When it comes to the ideal travel wardrobe, some crucial elements come to mind. Add remote destinations across Italy and active excursions such as biking to the itinerary and the stakes get even higher. Dressing for adventures abroad means mixing style, comfort, and versatility. Samuelsohn model and avid cyclist, Christopher Balogh knows how to create the perfect packing list for his perennial trip to Italy.
The lines between work and play blur when Balogh and fashion photographer Paul Wright return every year to shoot for a month in the Emilia Romagna region. Traveling from top to bottom, they capture the beauty of the area and its many boutique bike hotels as well as the excitement of the multi-sport scene.
For their most recent trip this fall, they shot and raced the inaugural edition of Oceanman Cattolica, an open water swim race attracting an international field of athletes. In packing for the expedition, Balogh saw Samuelohn’s VUE Collection as the perfect travel wardrobe. The selection of lightweight pieces are easy to pack, wear, and reflect “the kind of versatility that suits my lifestyle,” Balogh explained. “I really like the comfort and how the fabrics have natural stretch.”
The VUE collection’s fluid, easy pieces are designed to feel great, but boast the style and craftsmanship for which Samuelsohn is known. “The VUE line is really well-designed but the fabrics really impressed me,” noted Wright. Wherever their travels took them these innovative, luxe-casual pieces were a perfect choice. By mixing elements from sportswear with tailored elements, the collection makes for an ideal choice for travel as well as everyday wear that meets the need for comfort and style.
From sightseeing to breaking for refreshing afternoon drinks, Balogh frequently repurposed the Grey Micro Stripe Mouliné Knit Jacket and matching Drawstring Pants throughout the trip. Easily the most comfortable pairing, these relaxed yet refined separates were convenient enough to throw on in the morning and keep him looking stylish throughout the day. Worn together or separately, this jacket and pair of pants are minimally constructed and unlined to feel incredibly light.

When taking time for a stroll around the city, Balogh opted for the modern Grey Plaid Comfort Stretch Jacket. Deconstructed for ease of movement and crafted from a wool/cotton blend with a touch of stretch, this casual plaid jacket met the need for stylish men's sports coat that is relaxed, refined, and the perfect match to his go-to denim.

Another one of Balogh’s top picks? The unstructured design of the Camel Eco Jersey Melton City Coat, which was versatile and made it easy to dress up or down. “I wore the hell out of the camel coat, it was so easy.”
This sustainable and stylish modern take on the classic camel overcoat is unlined and made with a recycled wool blend that is light, breathable, and durable. A great pick for travel, this fall/winter wool overcoat offers luxe hybrid clothing tailored to reflect the scope of men’s style today.
The perfect piece for layering underneath all of Balogh’s outfits was the Comfort Knit Jersey Shirt. This casual shirt is a travel essential crafted from soft, rich cotton with a touch of stretch and designed with sartorial details offered a versatile, luxurious yet laid-back staple. The shirt in navy was the ideal pairing for Balogh when worn underneath the Mouliné Knit separates or the Grey Plaid Comfort Stretch Jacket. Meanwhile, he sported the white shirt alone with classic tan slacks.
